Life The Crompton Hospital Management Team Gives Back on Mandela Day
In celebration of Nelson Mandela Day, the Hospital Manager and Management Committee from Life The Crompton Hospital dedicated their time to serving the community through a meaningful outreach initiative at St Vincent Children’s Home in Marianhill.
Inspired by Mandela’s call to make a difference through service, the team came together to prepare 100 lunch packs for the children. The initiative saw MANCO members making sandwiches, packing lunch bags, and personally delivering them to the home.
In addition to the meal packs, Life The Crompton Hospital donated blankets to help keep the children warm during the winter season.
The visit was met with appreciation and excitement from both the caregivers and children at St Vincent Children’s Home. Many of the children proudly displayed their new blankets while enjoying their lunch packs, their smiles reflecting the spirit of gratitude and community connection that Mandela Day seeks to inspire.
The initiative formed part of the hospital’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities it serves. By dedicating their time and resources, the management team demonstrated how collective action, no matter how simple, can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Nelson Mandela once said, “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” Through this outreach effort, theLife The Crompton Hospital management team honoured that legacy by bringing warmth, nourishment and joy to children in need.
