“The Eastern Cape became the first province to host district events for the RCS Rising Star Tennis Championships.”
The RCS Rising Star Tennis Championships officially launched in the Eastern Cape, marking a historic moment for grassroots tennis in South Africa. District events brought together young players from diverse communities, offering them structured competition and exposure. The initiative is designed to identify and nurture talent from underrepresented regions, aligning with TSA’s transformation goals. Coaches and parents praised the program for providing opportunities that were previously unavailable in rural areas. The Eastern Cape’s successful hosting sets the stage for other provinces to follow, ensuring nationwide participation. The Rising Star Championships are expected to become a cornerstone of South Africa’s tennis development pipeline, producing athletes who can compete internationally.
